Jaipur Juggles!!
What could have been better
to start your Jaipur sojourn with the breezy milieu in the scorching sun of the
pink city? I, along with one of my dearest friend started our journey at 8 in
the morning from Gurgaon. With chole chawal and Maggi packed in our bags, we
got out tanks full (with tel, as my friend says :P)and headed at full speed on
NH8. Playing ‘Lovers on the sun’ at the volume that we escape the frivolous
honking of the horns behind! Chatting and laughing, chortling and talking,
discussing and pondering, our trip started with wonderful ease. We decided to grab our favourite beverage
which had actually made our friendship stronger. I took crunchy frappe and he
took Cappuccino. A grim moment had taken over me since I was put in the waiting
list of one of the colleges I had applied in and was confident of converting it
successfully!
The joy of the awesome
drive made me forgot that but with the intermittent glances of the college. We
finally reached our destination of Amer fort and palace! Our eyes were glued to
the magnificent sculpture before us with uncountable stairs and a beautiful
architecture. The best part was the wonderful weather accompanying us! Thus
started our journey of exploring the tunnels and unending fort with our endless
selfies. I was mesmerized to see a beautiful orchard in between the water. The
entry was restricted but our cameras captured its beauty. We explored the
various tombs, mini forts, royal rooms of the wives, latrines and the
picturesque view of their royalty. One of the most fascinating part was the
tunnel which was to be used for wars. It further connects to the Jaigarh fort
without putting our feet outside the fort. The palace was embellished with the
beautiful architecture of mirrors and vibrant colours. Read stories about the
various kings that have reigned in the fort. More selfies and more exploring of
their brilliant ways of pumping up water , pulley systems et al with such
limited resources about 5 millenniums ago.
We went ahead to Jal Mahal which
was just 4 kms away from Amer fort. Decided
to grab Matar kulche, bhelpuri and pani patasha and sat beside the Mahal
enjoying food and the brisk waves! Jal mahal was initially a dam which was
restructured to a palace later. Thus our one day sojourn to palaces ended. At
around five we decided to head our homes to save us from the truck traffics.
Though, it was in vain. We stopped for another round of lovely coffee and tea
and reached home with serenity of the palace and royalty of the kings in our hearts!
A one day trip worth
cherishing for a lifetime.
It seemed like a day that
god had especially written for me. In the backdrop of a grim news, encircling
me with the beautiful weather, a beautiful palace and a beautiful friend J
